How do you like her now?

All of you anti abortion zealots that so adore your fearless leaders melania, will you vilify her as you do everyone here that is pro choice?
Is she your enemy now? Or, do you agree with donald that she has her own mind and has her own beliefs? And that is all cool?
And if that's the case, why are you a hypocrite?

This is the new Trump/Vance ticket. It's just like the old Trump/Pence ticket, but it's lying about it. And Melania will comment, but she'll only do it for $250K.

@Northwest same/same.

I'm neutral about her, but I mostly agree with what she reportedly wrote in her 'memoir':

"Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.”

I say mostly, because I know the stage of a pregnancy is a big factor in how most pro-choice people feel about abortion...including me.
Like you, I've been seeing those with a pro-choice stance on abortion called all manner of things for a long time. This is why I've often wondered why anyone who thinks abortion is murder , that those who have or in any contribute to an abortion occurring are evil baby "killers"... would think the legality of it should go back to individual states.

@Piper im sorry this took so long. I kind of bug out on the weekends.
And i wonder this as well. If abortion at any time is murder, how do those pro life people believe it's a state thing?
And if murder is a state thing, why do iowans( or floridians, or south carolinians) care anything about lethal crime in other states?

And melania? She's selling books.
But if i am a baby killing, baby eating,
liberal monster, doesn't her beliefs make her one too?
Piper · 61-69, F
@Carla That's okay. I've been sort of bugged out too, by the before and after of hurricanes.
These are questions I've never seen answered, by those who feel abortion at any stage is murdering a baby.

Yes, I believe it does.
While I'm not convinced Melania is in fact behind this, and if so, what her reasons are for speaking out now, I think, in the long run, its probably a good thing.

@MistyCee He used to be a Democrat. Taking power away from the fed and putting it back in the hands of the States is a good thing.
@TexChik Giving it back to the States isn't that bad of a thing, imo, but I doubt Trump will stick to that if it didnt seem like the best move for Trump, and I suspect he'd be fine with a national ban if that suited him once he's the one enforcing it and able to use it to punish his enemies and reward his "friends."
TexChik · F
@MistyCee That is conjecture and wishful thinking, completely devoid of fact. Trump can't and would not defy SCOTUS. SCOTUS gave the states the power to control and make their own abortion law , so there can be no national ban. Trump of course would applaud the states for following their own plans.
In the right wing space the opinion of a woman doesn't really matter anyway so I doubt it will move the needle.

Talk to some of these conservatives long enough and they will tell you they will send Boebert and MTG back to the kitchen when they have stopped being useful.

I didn't vote for Melania. She, like all Americans , are free to have their own opinion. Not being a communist , how does that make me a hypocrite?
TexChik · F
@Carla I have no desire to affect anything about you or your day, but your BS is another matter.
Carla · 61-69, F
@TexChik you seemed cheery in your last response. So clearly, it matters.

Im done here.
Have a great weekend, tex...

@JSul3 she is. And how better to sell books than to appeal to those that read?
