I Believe Few Understand Obamacare

The American people said: "Go slow, do it right."....But the geniuses in Washington DC are smarter than all of us. Only they know what is good for us.

1.4 million people are about to lose their current Obamacare coverage

The exodus of insurers from the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is going to lead to a massive shift in coverage next year.

According to an analysis by Bloomberg's Zachary Tracer, Tatiana Darie, and Katherine Doherty, roughly 1.4 million Americans will lose the coverage they have currently through the ACA, better known as Obamacare, exchanges and have to find a new plan.

Bloomberg estimated the number by calling the insurance regulator in each state and asking how many people would be impacted. A few states, such as Georgia and Texas, either didn't answer Bloomberg or did not have enough data.

Eleven states and Washington DC said they would be unaffected.

According to the Bloomberg report, the states with the most turnover are Florida, North Carolina Tennessee, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

The shift is primarily due to insurers leaving the marketplaces where they operated. Large firms such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Humana have all announced rollbacks of their Obamacare coverage for 2017.

Some states, such as Minnesota, Tennessee, and South Carolina have seen so many insurers leave that it has pushed the exchanges to the brink, lead to large premium increases, and have state lawmakers worried.

These insurers are reducing coverage due to the unexpectedly high costs of the pool of people entering the exchanges. The people that have signed up so far have been sicker and older than expected, meaning they are net losses for the insurers. Younger people have not jumped onto the exchanges as anticipated, leaving the insurers without a counterbalancing group to pay into the pool.

The Obama administration recently announced new initiatives and rules to help mitigate these problems.

Yes this is a problem I have been hearing rumblings about. It is so bad even Bill Clinton has been speaking against Obamacare!

When is the country going to wake up?
Northwest · M
@Hikingguy: No, Bill Clinton is not speaking against Obamacare. He's saying, it does not go far enough. The tiny blip, taken out of context, from Bill's speech, is not the full story. Hillary will be pushing to extend Obamacare, into what it was intended for in the first place: a single payer system.

@Northwest: oh look who decided to show his face again! How are you NW? Still trolling are ya?
Northwest · M
@Hikingguy: Are you having a stroke? Do you have any other comment, to prove otherwise?
lov2smile · 36-40, F
@Northwest:

Hikingguy was just showing how much he missed you...since you were suppose to get back to me when you accused me of mocking people.
Northwest · M
@lov2smile: I'm supposed to do what? You mean when you call people, including myself, naive and stupid, for not supporting your political views? or when they call on fabricated stories, such as disgracing the memory of Ambassador Stevens, by posting a fake image, showing a burned body, claiming it was his, and claiming that he was raped and tortured for seven hours? Have you no shame?
lov2smile · 36-40, F
@Northwest:

Yes I have called you naive, and I was being kind.

I NEVER called you stupid. Show me where I called you such a name....Prove it to me!!
Northwest · M
@lov2smile:
Yes I have called you naive, and I was being kind.

You're welcome
Northwest · M
@Northwest: .. and I guess hikingguy has no spine. He blocked me and ran off, like the troll that he is.
lov2smile · 36-40, F
@Northwest:

I'm sorry to hear that Hikingguy blocked you, but you have to admit...
you can be brutal at times, LOL.

BTW I never called you or anyone stupid. Besides, I don't think you are stupid...just misguided.

You honestly didn't think I was going to give you a compliment, do you? haha
Northwest · M
@lov2smile: I don't know who the guy is, but he steps in, and accuses me of trolling, and then blocks me?

I think your Trump high, is fogging your memory. I remember you, on more than one occasion, referencing what myself, and some others have written, as stupid.

Facts can be brutal at times :-)

BTW, Hillary's lead, has widen nationally, to 11 points, and the Democrats are switching resources, from the Presidential race, to the down ballot races. Want to guess why?

Yesterday's dump of e-mails comes from the FBI and is even more damning than the Wikileaks's.

It appears that Hilary and others in the State Department pressured the FBI in de-classifying 100's of e-mails. When the FBI refused.

The State Dept promised to give the FBI more influence over foreign countries investigations and for that the FBI simply said: We will not de-classify but we will not go public.

Does this not bother you?

Oh right you won't hear it on CNN so it didn't happen.
Northwest · M
@lov2smile: Once more, you're not investigating on your own, and instead relying on biased 3rd parties.

It's about a single email. It does not involve Hillary, but a State Department official. He asked to have the FBI reclassify a single email, that the official thought was not classified before it was sent, but the FBI classified as "classified".

The story is now stale, and there was no quid quo pro. Hillary was not aware of it, according to all the sources involved. The guy was trying to make sure, he was not in trouble, so he never told her about it, especially when the FBI guy told him no.

Of course I heard about it on CNN, in fact, they spent more than 2 hours on it yesterday, and then re-aired the coverage throughout the day. It was on the New York Times, NBC, CBS, ABC, and of course Fox News. Google it. Geez.
lov2smile · 36-40, F
It was a Benghazi memo and yes it was on Hillary's server.
Northwest · M
@lov2smile: If you knew it was about a single email, then why did you claim it was hundreds of emails? Is it because this is what Trump said today, in his speech (hint: yes, he did and I saw it on CNN).

So one more time, the exchange between Kennedy and the FBI, did not involve Hillary, and both the FBI and the State Department, are saying that there was no Quid Quo Pro, and the item in question, was never unclassified. Furthermore, there are multiple versions, and second and third hand accounts, on the actual conversation between Kennedy and the FBI.

@Northwest:

Attack and distract

You should really save your righteous indignation for the person responsible for what happened in Benghazi....Hillary Clinton.

Clinton's incompetence killed 4 Americans.....
Northwest · M
@lov2smile: @lov2smile: No distractions. Only the truth.

Yes, 4 Americans died in Benghazi. We are at war, and bad stuff happens.

Under George Bush's watch, more than a dozen attacks occurred, against US Embassies, and US diplomatic targets, resulting in dozens of deaths. Should we lock him up?
lov2smile · 36-40, F
@Northwest:

Yes, Embassies were attacked under Reagan, Bush, Bill Clinton and so on....But NONE of them had the warning that Benghazi had. None, nada, ziltch.

Benghazi pleads for help, that were completely ignored. How could anyone live with themselves after what happened.....Only Hillary could say:

"What does it matter" I realize she was referring to the time frame, but it was so careless for someone who should have come out right from the start and say..."Look, I blew it"...But no, we were treated to a series of lies, lies and more lies

Stop being so blind. Hillary is solely responsible for her and the deparments incompetence.

BTW I'm giving you fair warning to clean up your other post before I delete it for you. Your reference to Carson is disgusting.
Northwest · M
Yes, Embassies were attacked under Reagan, Bush, Bill Clinton and so on....But NONE of them had the warning that Benghazi had. None, nada, ziltch.

This is the most misleading statement you've made so far. Every single one of our embassies, was in a war zone, with constants threats. The same could also be said about our Benghazi consulate.

It's ridiculous to claim that, in a war zone, things are peachy keen.
