I don't either but I think Trump just nuked the ACA. I thought he was just gonna let it implode.

The reason for the high cost of insurance is fraud, price fixing and monopolies in every part of the health care "industry" from insurers to pharmaceutical companies to hospitals themselves.. almost nobody understands this..

@SimplyTracie I think we should enforce existing law to stop the fraud and collusion.. if that were done health care costs could be lowered by 70 to 80 percent.. at that level even low income people could afford health care.
@SimplyTracie hospitals charge different rates for people with insurance than for people without, they charge Medicare different rates than insurers, they refuse to quote prices before service .. all those things are illegal in every other industry.. they collude with each other to fix prices wich is illegal. The supreme court has ruled this to be true Twice! yet our politicians refuse to act.. there's so much more.. that's just a small sampling.

@TotalMiss this has been going on for decades.. it has ZERO to do with ACA..
@TotalMiss I don't think that's entirely true. Mechanics won't charge less just because you're poor. Cars don't get fixed if a person can't afford to fix their car. Just like health care. People go without care before they just can't afford it.

@SimplyTracie you want to see what reasonable health care might cost absent fraud? go online to the website for the surgical centers of Oklahoma.... deregulated health care is affordable.. look up the cost to change a pacemaker, (includes the power pack) 7600 dollars, complete.. the same procedure at my local hospital fraud center would cost between 50 and 70 THOUSAND dollars... and Medicare or insurance companies pay it every day! Thats whats wrong with health care in America.
But we have a problem here. I'm covered under my dads insurance so I'm not really worried but... I don't see how Trump is helping this issue. It seems like he's poisoning the well.
@TotalMiss Well there isn't a free market anymore so removing or getting rid of ACA. Will do nothing for insurance prices, in fact they'll go up even faster than before and we'll have even more fraud in the form of "cheap" insurance plans that cover nothing!
@TotalMiss in the meantime lots of people will suffer in pain. many will die.. all because we're fighting over Obama care when the real issue is being ignored..
@TotalMiss I hope you're earning lots of money or have a good job working for an employer who provides good insurance.. because the price of insurance is going to be out of reach for tens of millions of Americans.. maybe if we start stacking the bodies of the dead in front of the capitol building our dickhead congressman will do something about it..
