@ElwoodBlues The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit overturned a ruling that determined federal courts have jurisdiction when immigration enforcement detains noncitizens in retaliation for their protected speech. The Second Circuit held that the district court lacked the authority to release Columbia University graduate student Mohsen Mahdawi on bail in April 2025 after he was detained at his citizenship interview and held for over two weeks in retaliation for his advocacy in support of Palestinian rights.
@sunsporter1649 Oh, so a handful out of ten thousand?? That's all you've got???

It's relevant here that ICE is losing 90% of its detention cases; over 10,000 losses
... judges have ruled against ICE detention practices in roughly 90 percent of cases,

That's not the record of an agency scrupulously following the law. That's the record of thugs with badges.

@ElwoodBlues An Obama-appointed federal judge’s attempt to rein in immigration enforcement in Chicago backfired after a federal appeals court ruled she overstepped her authority and "effectively established the district court as the supervisor of all Executive Branch activity in the city of Chicago."

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit tossed out Judge Sara Ellis’ preliminary injunction and dismissed the appeal in a sharply worded 2-1 decision.

The panel, comprising two Trump appointees and a Reagan appointee, said the lower court’s injunction was "overbroad" and "constitutionally suspect." It faulted the judge for applying the order not just to specific officers but "the entire Departments of Homeland Security and Justice, as well as anyone acting in concert with them."

Is it true that you are JJJackson with a new name??

Old proverbs often hold lasting truth because they reflect basic human nature and experiences passed down through generations.

"A thief only sees a thief" is a traditional proverb meaning that people often judge others based on their own hidden flaws or dishonest habits.

I don’t have time making multiple accounts and behaving like a hypocrite, I can tell many people do enjoy being dishonest because they are mentally challenged.

Look at yourself hard first before opening mouth to others to make yourself feel better.

Jjjjackson must be a conservative, no nonsense guy, in that case I’m happy that people see those qualities in me as well.

I can't believe it's real, either.

Well, if that diagram is at a real reflection of the parties' ideologies and manifestos, they agree on one thing!

They are both against limiting free speech.

@Jackrules Indeed - and good, though we can't blame the politicians if some people abuse that right.

The sad part is this stuff is all true. ☹
