Education is the real kicker. Our k12 systems are underfunded, over- dependant on course materials from prior to 1980, and rapidly becoming outpaced by and relient on cell phone and "digital" (wireless) culture and "infrastructure"(indoctrination). The next generation isnt being taught to survive and prosper only to be entertained and complain. The college\university system, which is pivotal to America remaining competetive internationally, is so debt ridden it is liable to topple soon. These are real issues ! GDP has become a measure of federal waste and spending not just productivity. Most GDP growth has come from the provision of healthcare to a quickly aging and dying baby boomer population. They WIL die out soon. Then where will all those medical professionals be employed? Where is low cost labor found? India and China; not overly indebted America, as it races and struggles to pay its bills. THE prospect of increased federal regulation helping anything is destined to be expenture heavy and to be too-big-to-work. Military spending needs to be shifted to domestic priorities (infrastructure, water conservation, desalinization to offset "ocean rise" and reduce freshwater shortages, & manufacturing). Instead more\only distraction. America needs to be self relient; food, water, shelter. Citizen provisions as priority! Healthcare cost savings. Mass transit. Instead America prioritizes military spending and space exploration? SERIOUSLY! There are "bigger fish" to fry. Water shortages are immenient due to coolant requirements of digital processing centers (which are not a requirement of sutvival). Huge food price increases will result. Another Housing market bubble is looming big and the federal military industrial complex is bound to bankrupt our nation AGAIN! If it has't already., IT HAS BEFORE!
