Not true.

Turns out outlaws get their guns from states with lax or no gun control laws.

"The Movement of Illegal Guns in America," a study released by the "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" coalition, documents the link between gun laws and interstate gun trafficking.

The study finds that the 10 states with the least control of sales supply 57% of the handguns recovered in crimes in other states.

West Virginia supplies the most; the District of Columbia none.

The study also finds that the less a state regulates handguns, the greater the incidence of death by handguns in that state.

The coalition's "Trace Data Center" collects, analyzes and distributes gun trace data and related reports released by the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)

I do not support removal of libraries of law abiding citizens. In all honesty having a firearm saved my life. So no egg head study will ever change my mind on that.
@Ozuye502 Your analogy makes no sense. And as I mentioned elsewhere on this thread nearly every active shooter since 1979 was a "law abiding citizen" until they opened fire.

And some random anecdote doesn't change statistics that way more people are in the ground because of guns.

Your rational is like the old George Carlin joke of bringing your own bomb on a plane to lower the likelihood of a bomber being onboard based on statistics.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow these studies ignore defensive use of firearms regularly because they are generally done by one sided organizations. Yes people are hurt and killed by a firearm regularly. It sucks. However, there are millions of defensive uses yearly most of which do not result in a round being discharged.

The vast majority of firearm related homicides are actually gang related. The others majority is suicide which honestly to include in firearm related deaths is disingenuous.

Mass violence events happen all over the world. In Europe and Asia they use knives trucks and explosives. Wouldn't it actually make sense to have appropriate measures to defend yourself? Oh thats right you rather be a good little sheep and die as a victim than make the hard life changing decisions to end a threat.
@Ozuye502 Sorry but you can't study hypothetical fantasies of "good guys with guns."

Funny you should mention those because they are both down since the ban. Another point against you.

And it is not disingenuous. What is disingenuous is arbitrarily removing statistics that don't fit your political narrative. Death by gun is death regardless of who pulled the trigger. Pretending otherwise is just pushing a narrative that doesn't fit the facts.

Again, your right wing "hero with a gun" doesn't hold up. It is a fantasy by idiots who think they are rambo.

How many mass shootings have happened down under since the ban?

In the US which if your "good guy with a gun" theory had any merit would be the safest place on earth.

Instead it has the unique distinction of having more mass shootings than days in a year and adults who have lived through multiple active shooter massacres.

There are literal warzones that are arguably safer.

Hypothetical my left nut. Those are just the 3 I've seen in a quick Google search.

Funny how concealed carry is up nation wide buddy. Yea you must have not been paying attention since the supreme court ruling on states can no long demand for justifiable need. Oh not to mention 26 states are now constitutional carry.
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow you also have to understand that mass shootings are often targeted attacks because the vast majority happen in gun free zones. Why? Because its a soft target rich environment where law enforcement takes minutes to respond.
@Ozuye502 All you have been able to provide is two random exceptions to a rule involving thousands and thousands of dead.

And more concealed carry just means you are all afraid of each other. So much for "home of the brave." 🤣
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow yea being responsible for your own safety is being afraid? Hmm sorry my head doesn't fit that far up my own ass to make sense of that. Hmm just because you didn't understand the values and disciplines involved in being responsible for yourself just proves your ignorance.
@Ozuye502 Man that "gun free zone" bullshit. That is completely made up.

By that logic alone Canada should have 10 times the number of mass shootings. Do you even think these things through or do you just repeat talking points from Wayne LaPierre verbatim?
@Ozuye502 Your own words prove you live in fear of everyone around you.
@Ozuye502 Living in fear is not being responsible.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow im more likely to use my weapon against wildlife where i live however don't think i don't train to engage threats of all kinds.
@Ozuye502 Most people on planet earth live in urban areas now and are not going to run into anything more scary than a raccoon.

Even in places were things get bigger though a gun can make it worse. This summer there was a rampaging bear going around that became dangerous because some idiot wounded it.
