@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow im more likely to use my weapon against wildlife where i live however don't think i don't train to engage threats of all kinds.

@Ozuye502 Most people on planet earth live in urban areas now and are not going to run into anything more scary than a raccoon.
Even in places were things get bigger though a gun can make it worse. This summer there was a rampaging bear going around that became dangerous because some idiot wounded it.

I somehow doubt it since even gun crazy American studies of crime rates in Australia since the ban shows the exact opposite.
The crime rate sky rocketed in Australia since the gun ban.

Be practical. In the case of America, taking guns out of the hands of citizens just isnt practical.. So dont bother. So here is the deal. And this has to be federal. Every weapon has a registered owner at some point. And that owner remains liable under criminal penalty for any crime the weapon is involved in.. As an accessory, equally guilty of the crime. So each owner them begomes responsible to notify authorities if the gun is stolen, or sold. Simple..If the gun is still yours, and is used to commit a murder. Thats on the owner...That and requiring a gun owner to be licensed by their state, will allow honest, careful people to keep all the guns they want..While using a gun in commission of a crims should add twenty years to the penalty.. It woulsnt take long for that to bite..😷

Yep. All those blue cities American conservatives love to scream about are all within short driving distance of red states where straw purchases are basically business as usual.
So either American conservatives are as bad at their own geography as they are internationally or they are deliberately withholding that crucial info.
Also when you adjust for population red counties suddenly become the warzones.

My country has some of the hardest gun laws in the world.
1. Upon applying for a Lic ( Rifle ) a background check is done by the Fereral Police
2. A psychopath/sociopath test must be done by a Government Registered clinic
3. 12 weeks training by the Firearm Safety & Training Council
4. Rifle must be held in appoved Gun safe bolted to a concrete or steel floor ( wooden not allowed )
5. The firearm must be checked by the local Police every 12 months
6. Police have the right to visit & check your safe at anytime.
Handgun only if your are a police officer or Security Guard Lic.
Most of my countries Handgun Sporting shooters clubs have disbanded
