A gun and groceries. [I Own Guns]

Ever since I retired I have kept busy with projects one being filling and delivering grocery lists for those who for one reason or another aren’t able. Needless to say it gives me a good feeling.
Yesterday while filling a list I had a conversation with an off duty police officer in the grocery store. This post is a result of that conversation.
He told me about a recent situation at that very store where a fellow walked in without a face mask. When one of the employees approached and pointed out the requirement the customer opened his jacket slightly and displayed his holstered pistol. The officer said “I came up from the side one hand outstretched the other on my gun ready to draw: we had a couple of harsh words because he said he lives in America and wasn’t going to wear any goddamm mask if he didn’t want to but he finally left. I tell ya some people are just looking to start trouble.”

I own two handguns and have been a registered owner for years. I have one with me most everywhere I go and though I wouldn’t call myself a sharpshooter I practice enough to feel confident in my aim.

The VERY LAST THING I want to do is fire my weapon: the next to last thing I want to do is display it: unless the information is necessary I don’t tell anyone I’m carrying it!

Anyone who goes around showing his/her firearm as a part of a “conversation” is asking for trouble, and if he/she isn’t careful they’ll get what they’re asking for.

If you need your gun to do your talking for you, think long and hard about what’s wrong with your life.

Be an adult with a gun. Not a child with one.
