I have several guns. Not one has killed anyone. I've taken courses, I've gone through the necessary background checks. I have numerous friends who own guns and purchased them legally. Not one of them has gone a shooting rampage.

I am all for background checks and a vetting process to purchase a handgun, rifle or shotgun. Each state has it's own set of rules for background checks, ownership & purchasing. When I lived in CT I had a Concealed Carry permit. I didn't always carry but knew I could if I wanted to. I now live in NJ and have a permit to purchase but not carry unless going to a shooting range.

Just 2 days ago a woman in PA purchased an AR15 from a gun shop in just 7 minutes.

Criminals will ALWAYS be able to find a way to buy a gun. Always. There are many avenues in which to buy on the black market.

All responsible law abiding citizens will go through the vetting process to purchase their gun/s.

I agree we need better gun reform for background checks. I also agree we do not need to have a semi-automatic rifle unless we have 500 zombies running at us. :(

The Orlando shooter was a vetted security guard who had the legal right to own a gun. He purchased his legally. He was interviewed by the FBI as a suspicious person, yet somehow he was still able to work for a security firm and still purchase guns. 3 weeks prior to the shooting a gun shop denied him purchasing body armour (the type used by Police). The shop contacted authorities yet the shooter was not questioned by anyone.

This particular story goes a lot deeper than just basic gun control laws and we won't see this full story for at least several months.

Every US citizen has the right to own a gun to protect ourselves and our families from harm.
