Despite how much I hate what the current US administration is doing ... shooting someone who was openly against gun control isn't irony, it's hypocrisy.

We have more gun control laws than ever and they are not changing anything. The problem is not the guns, which were far more readily available 50 yrs ago when mass shootings were extremely rare.

The problem is the mental health epidemic, the willingness to kill innocent kids because YOU are mentally ill and hurting, the hate and willingness to use violence against some one just for disagreeing with your beliefs.

The problem is the loss of basic humanity among the people doing these things. Its insanity to claim more gun laws alone will change this .. there has to be more to it.
@BrandNewMan Who said "alone"? But maybe ... just maybe ... the increase in those other things might actually be a good reason for EFFECTIVE gun control ... like gun control that actually controls guns.

@BrandNewMan They can too easily get guns from anywhere else, in my opinion ... but I respect that you're at least thinking, rather than having a blind opinion. People snap, and the first time it happens they can be undocumented and dangerous.
@NudasPriest That's the other problem with guns laws being the main focus. Criminals do not obey existing gun laws .. they wont obey new ones. Close the gun show gaps, private sales gaps, etc ..I support that .. but know illegal guns and illegal access will remain.
@BrandNewMan Agreed, and it's possible that the horse has bolted. I think improvements could be made though, for a long term solution. This is more conversation than I usually partake in, but I'll finish off by saying I hope the world can move away from extremism.
