Time for another gun control post

The gun insanity in America just keeps getting worse. Thousands of Americas are killed by guns every year. Enough!

The U.S. needs a federal gun owner's license required to buy handguns and ammo. To get the license should require giving finger-prints and photo. There should also be a requirement to take a gun safety training class. An untrained person with a gun is a huge danger to themselves and everyone around them. The U.S. also needs a strong Federal Assault Weapons Ban law.

Vote for candidates who have a record of real action on gun safety laws.

Will criminals obey the law?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@badminton
Shootings very commonly happen in public places; schools, office buildings, shopping malls, parking lots, churches, nightclubs, etc.

Popycock!
It's illegal for them to bring their guns in those places!
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Budwick Wait! You mean criminals didn’t obey the law?
Baremine · 70-79, C
@MrBrownstone haven't seen one yet. That is why they are called criminals.
Gun Control Rule 4-90

1) 90% of firearm homicides involve a handgun.
2) 90% of firearm homicides occur in America's inner cities where gangs and drugs are prevalent.
3) 90% of firearm homicides are committed by felons. At least 1 felony, but the average is 4.
4) 90% of firearm violence involves a gun acquired illegally.

More gun control is gonna help that 🙄
@badminton Let's see the source of your comment about the mythical firearms black market first.

@BizSuitStacy

NBC News"More than 80 percent of weapons involved in mass shootings over the last three decades have been purchased legally"

https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/san-bernardino-shooting/more-80-percent-guns-used-mass-shootings-obtained-legally-n474441
@badminton ba dum...tisss. Nice attempt to deflect, but mass shootings are a fraction of the homicides. And roughly 2/3 of mass shootings are a product of domestic violence per Mother Jones. They are family annihilators.

And...let's face it...NBC news isn't a trust worthy source.

Still waiting for your source exposing the fantasy black market for guns.
Montanaman · M
Okay. I have had training. Past a course. Got my fingerprints. Past background check.
Now I'm licensed to carry concealed in Montana, even though it's not required.
That's responsibility.
Slade · 56-60, M
Yawn. So predictable

Here's something to chew on - "shall not be infringed"
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@Slade "A well-regulated militia"
Slade · 56-60, M
@badminton and...
Baremine · 70-79, C
You are out of your mind. I don't need a gun safety course. I served in the USAF. You obviously don't know a whole lot.
Southernbelle131 · 36-40, F
I would love to talk about gun control. Not to argue about it. But to talk because i want to hear others opinions on it and how to better handle it
AbbySvenz · F
There is nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership 👍 @Southernbelle131
Skippyskiptic · 41-45, M
@Southernbelle131 it's almost like all the "great ideas" to govern firearms are already in effect.
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@Skippyskiptic Not in the U.S. The gun industry bribes our elected representatives with campaign donations to block any action on sane gun control laws in Congress I hope we can drive these merchants of death and their blood money out of our political system.
The laws aren't working, they dont acknowledge who is actually demented anymore, with our modern lifestyle the takers of assistance are most likely to go ballistic, but its not viewed properly.
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
At last someone with commonsense . I pray for all US citizens that this happens sooner rather than later .
Slade · 56-60, M
@Rhode57

the weekly gun murders of kids in schools in the US .

Weekly gun murders in schools eh? You know how many mass school shootings have taken place in the US since 1966?

The answer is 12
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@Slade According to Security.org there have been 118 school shootings since 1999.
https://www.security.org/blog/a-timeline-of-school-shootings-since-columbine/
Slade · 56-60, M
@badminton Again you ignore the mass part of the shooting

There are hysterical people here who really believe there are school massacres here every day
You know how many Americans are killled by those with handguns outside of the legal system? I doubt you do,
Baremine · 70-79, C
@soar2newhighs less than those killed by drunks and druggies.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Baremine or doctors, or drugs legal or illegal
Your on your own friend I like less regulations ... constitutional carry here is the norm
Majorsite · 61-69, M
Save it, Your talking to someone Who's State passed a constitutional carry law !
Penny · 46-50, F
i agree. a federal license like that sounds like a good idea to me
DDaverde · 56-60, M
FJB and his buffoons
Pretzel · 61-69, M
