Supreme Court Allows the Texas Abortion Law to Remain. California Governor Newsom Plans to Draft a Similar Law to Control Assault Weapons/Ghost Guns

If a state can draft a law shielding itself from lawsuits on abortion, why shouldn't California and other blue states be able to enact gun control laws that cannot be challenged either?

Newsom's an idiot.

You don't argue against an unjust law by using it to your advantage.

Spend your efforts on repealing or overturning the law!

@beckyromero He isn't an idiot. He's a traitor. And a smarmy one at that.

@beckyromero There's no way you're going to overturn something like that so creative solutions are required because of the authoritarian bent, it's a lost cause. I'm more of a realist. If Newsom can use it to leverage to his advantage, maybe it will teach us all to behave or maybe conservatives are too stupid to realize the irony of what's really happening.

It's not Newsom's fault that anti abortion conservatives tend not to get what their decisions led to, maybe they'll think really hard about it next time.

People don't have to like it but it makes sense for the above reasons.

At any rate, why shouldn't we sue gun manufactures? Most of the big names have been dipped their hands into everything from fraud, embezzlement, arms trafficking and racketeering. Some of their handguns went for really cheap, about 79 dollars, which made it through the black market quite easily, you can't tell me that they don't know that some of their decisions make it easier for mass shootings. The gun lobby is full of that, I don't feel sorry for royalty who do that to themselves when they could have just been more proactive with things.

You don't take care of things, you reap what you sow, first rule of life.

Because guns don't kill people.

MEN with guns kill people.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@beckyromero I would LOVE to blame it on just one singular thing, even if it doesn't go with the facts. I would love to be the type of person that just reads facts, ignores everything in light of evidence, to just say "men are to blame and there's no external forces that make it easier ever." So therefore you can just keep blaming "men" and then keep blaming them 10 years later without actually doing anything about it. Therefore life remains easy and you don't have to do that nasty bit of challenging a belief system when it activates the same area in your brain as a threat. No fight or flight, no angst, no loss of identity as a result, no ego death which actually feels like you're dying... just an easy blame.

Yes even though why we have way too many gun deaths IS precisely because gun manufactures are so shielded from the law but never mind that, I'll just say "men" and act like I have a solution without ever really proposing anything. That will certainly appease people.

But these aren’t frivolous lawsuits, he says; they’re a result of the lack of legislation that might prevent mass shootings.

@SatanBurger

Maybe we can solve the drug problem by suing the drug cartels?

Men have probably committed in excess of 99% of all human murders throughout history, whether it be with guns, swords or clubs.

If you really want a solution, perhaps it is time to start looking at why it is men who are far more likely to commit murder, period, regardless of whether they use a firearm.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@beckyromero The drug cartels make billions of dollars a year, maybe we can sue and people have before. Nothing like taking power away if you got no money.

Like Mexico said, these people who are gun manufacturers HAVE been investigated not only by Mexico but also by American law enforcement for illegal arms dealing, fraud, embezzlement and everything under the sun. You're NOT going to tell me at all that actions like those didn't lead to actions like flooding of weapons on the black market and questionable groups having those guns at will.

The facts say that poor legislation is what leads to these things because of other things. If a toy is used on a person and it hurts them, they can be sued, this allows toy companies to be responsible for their product. Gun manufacturers invincibility is what allows them to make relaxed prices on guns and other things that in turn allow other things and allows other things.

There's always going to be bad men but frankly it seems like a cop out rather than a solution.

@beckyromero Never waste energy attacking a wall from outside when you can your opposition to destroy it from within. Its actually such a clever strategic move I am suprised an American thought it up.😷
