I Am For Gun Control

Yet another school shooting today. This time at a school outside of Denver.

America needs strong gun control laws now! If you want this insanity to stop, vote for for candidates who will fight hard for sane gun control laws. Write your Reps in Congress and demand a gun owner's license be required to buy guns and ammo. Demand a federal assault weapons ban. Send a donation to a gun control group today. If we want this carnage to stop we will all have to do our part: vote, write your government representatives. Take action for sane gun control laws!

So sad to hear yet again,my sympathy to those who where wounded and for any fatalities,I’m not an American, and I respect your constitution for what it is,but surely someone must realise that there comes a time where amendments to parts of a constitution are necessary for the safety and security of its citizens,I get that your 2nd amendment is a controversial issue, there are European countries where having weapons is legal but a restriction is place on semi/auto weapons, personally I would ask for a person to prove why they need particular weaponry as a way of gun control r at least something along that line, for the sake of all those parents who lost the child through gun crimes,We the older generation owe it too our younger generation to protect n nurture their futures not take it away.

@LUVELACE A large majority in the United States are in favor of gun control laws. After the Las Vegas shooting in 2017, in which 58 people were killed, support for stronger gun control laws polled at over 70%.

I am hoping people have had enough and will vote in large numbers for candidates who will enact strong gun control laws, including a ban on assault weapons.

@badminton how many more school shootings are there going too be before your congress or upper house pass a law or amendment,I’m a combat specialist with S.O.F and I have seen first hand the damage an assault rifle can do,it’s part of the job but innocent kids aren’t supposed too be statistic on a chart

@LUVELACE I believe military-grade weapons should not be available to the general public. There was an assault weapons ban in place in the U.S. from 1994 to 2004, but it was allowed to expire.

@badminton I’m all for home protection etc,I have a 45cal sig 228 and a H&K G63,it’s the easy of access to weapons in the USA,and the use of the 2nd amendment to justify these weapons

I'm not opposed to gun ownership. However, I believe regulations are necessary to prevent unfit and dangerous people from having access to dangerous weapons.

FYI - I've done research on the 2nd Amendment, and I believe the original intent was to allow the states to keep their state militia when they joined the federal union. The gun industry and the NRA have long been pushing a distorted interpretation of the the 2nd Amendment, for the main goal of selling more guns. The U.S. civilian gun industry is big business, over $ billion a year. The gun industry uses its money and influence to fight gun control legislation in Congress.

@badminton @badminton thank God it expired. You people need to understand an AR 15 is NOT a military grade weapon. That would be an M 16. It has full auto capability. Also the media term Assault Weapon is incorrect. It is the stock that is different. Ruger makes two different rifles that are exactly the same except for the stock. One is a standard stock that most accept as a hunting rifle. The other is the feered assult weapon. The majority of hunters prefer the assult weapon platform.
Why is it we twist a tragic MENTAL HEALTH issue into an issue to take away the only thing that gaurentees our freedom.
It is sad that the left has destroyed theinds of our kids and these tragidies happen. God says Thou shalt not kill. The left encourages you to kill you unborn baby up until it is born. Yet you want gun control. Get a life.

@Baremine The AR-15 is virtually the same weapon as the military's M-4, the current verison of the M-16. The only major difference is the AR-15 is semi-auto, while the M-4 is selective fire. No civilian has any business owning a weapon with 30-round mags.

I hope to see an assault weapons ban enacted by Congress, this time with no expiration date and no loop holes.

M 4 has a much shorter barrel than the m16. It also only shoot semi auto or three round bursts. A civilian in the USA should be allowed to own any gun he wants and any mag he wants. Just like the bs about bump stocks. They do not allow the gun to fire full auto as the left would have you believe. They also do not increase the speed in which the gun is capability of firing. The biggest fear that the libtards have is privately owned firearms in the hands of the men and women they have trained to use those firearms.

@ApollyonMagnus actually the ar 15 is not legal for deer hunting in most states as the bullet is to light. It is more of a varment gun as is a 222 and 243. The ar 15 is not a high powered rifle as is the 308 30-06. Etc. I enjoyed shooting the M 16 as I did the M1 carbine. Not a lot of kick. You guys are scared of an image. The 223 is extremely fast as is the 270.
