I Am For Gun Control

I’m Gen Z (i.e. the generation that’s being killed in school) and I have a couple opinions about gun control/school shootings. I really don’t want to hear anybody tell me that my generation doesn’t know shit because a couple people ate tide pods as a meme. We’re young adults and we are the future.

The whole March For Our Lives movement is kind of pissing me off. Remember when Black Lives Matter did the same thing and got hauled off to jail? It’s ridiculous that people are trying to claim activism when it’s only white people they care about. The only time the media listens is when there is a white translator.
I believe Gun control is needed in ALL forms. Not just for everyday citizens, police officers need it too bc yanno they’re still murdering unarmed black men.

Another thing, I don’t understand why people are acting like school shootings are caused by bullying. If that were true, we would see many more poc shooters, female shooters, lgbt+ shooters. You know, the people actually getting bullied in school. But, we don’t. The majority of mass shooters are straight white men. Of course, there have been some instances where a minority has committed a mass shooting, but it’s less than 10% of the time. It isn’t a matter of bullying, it’s more a matter of the privilege and entitlement white men have. Straight white men are by far the most privileged and entitled group of people. I believe mental illness can play a factor but it is not something to blame mass shootings on.

females tend to commit suicide not act out like male and same for LGBT people. And yes the main number of mass shooters are white males but black male make up 55% of violent crime. white pple just do it in a more educational setting. If we are talking entitlement then we need to talk about race based school programs and racial job hiring and lower conditions for school for black kids. and not even to mention all the programs we have in our society that are minority based that whites don't have access to. You have to be mental to go shoot a bunch of innocent people. You play this as if its cause of there race and that not only bigoted but also racist. That is the worst part of your question.

@Firespirit .......there’s a reason whites don’t have access to it.....it’s because......we have access to a fuck ton of other things and it levels out the playing field imo. You cannot be racist toward white people so no, this is not racism.

Racism:the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. Please tell me what programs are white only? or what thing white people have minorities don't have?

@Firespirit The definition of racism was written by white people who have never suffered from systematic oppression. You cannot claim racism just because someone called you out on your BS. And I’m white? You can’t be racist towards your own race lmao?? Racism is based on the systematic oppression of people, which whites have never suffered from.
White people have privilege & minorities don’t. You’re welcome.

Racism is based on discrimination based on race. and the Irish has suffered and the million or so Europeans sold into Islamic slavery would argue with you. You keep saying white have privilege but I asked for specific example. a few examples might help your case.

@Firespirit In the United States, you cannot be racist towards white people. I’m not about to argue for other countries because I don’t believe I’m educated enough on those parts of history. White privilege is never suffering from systematic oppression. White privilege is EVERYWHERE, you just have to look.

@Firespirit I already said I wasn’t going to argue about other countries because I have done enough research on the topics. If you want specific examples of white privilege, feel free to google it. I can think of a couple off the top of my head, but I feel google would be more helpful.

@Firespirit Bandaids are closer to my skin tone than poc, makeup is made in shades that are closer to my complexion than poc, white people are usually displayed in nice pictures on the news while poc have their mugshots, white people usually have a fairly good relationship w police, there are few violent stereotypes associated w white people, etc etc
