Is school shooting linked to lack of gun control

Another terrible school shooting in the States. One send it to commented that the United States is the only country that has this problem . When are they going to wake up to the fact that the easy availability of guns is the major factor? I love the American people and have some great friends and relatives over there but I just cannot understand the thought process on this issue .

Arguments like this one are frankly naive. Like Guns have never been more difficult to access in the United States. Why weren't there all these school shootings back before fully automatic machine guns were banned in the 30's? Or during the 50's when World War Two surplus guns and ammo were sold extremely cheap in US markets?
