Is school shooting linked to lack of gun control

Another terrible school shooting in the States. One send it to commented that the United States is the only country that has this problem . When are they going to wake up to the fact that the easy availability of guns is the major factor? I love the American people and have some great friends and relatives over there but I just cannot understand the thought process on this issue .

Check out Chicago’s murder rate. By the way,strictest gun laws in America.

@MrBrownstone How can there be shootings in schools? I thought firearms were banned in school.

@Sharon Who would have thought people break the law.
Sharon · F
@MrBrownstone Surely not.

First of all, no, Chicago does not have the "strictest gun laws in America" (you're parroting an incorrect statement put out by Trump). We actually have pretty lax laws against guns in Chicago. Second, the reason there are guns in Chicago is because there are barely any gun laws in Indiana and surrounding states, and so it's very easy to get guns into Chicago. Most guns in Chicago are from neighboring states. Research before saying bullshit.

@Sharon Guess we should get rid of all laws then, Sharon.

@folks No, just don't presume banning something will magically make it disappear. How much gun crime is there in places like Indiana or Vermont? How about Kennesaw, GA?

@Sharon Tighter gun control does not equal banning...

@folks No it really does mean banning because "tighter" gun control, whatever the hell that means, doesn't achieve anything without full out ban. So laws will escalate until full bans are called sooner rather than later.

AND BTW very few states have waiting periods, may-issue permits, and clip restrictions. What other possible law could even be proposed? And no you cannot buy a gun in Indiana and bring it into Illinois without obeying all of the Illinois Laws. And even if that were true why isn't the Indiana murder rate much higher than Illinois if the availability of guns is the issue?
