When is it appropriate to talk about state level gun control?

These school shootings seem to be the new normal, or atleast it's been normal since Columbine. Can we talk about it? Is that okay?

Looks like some still don't want to talk, but I'm heartened by the fact that with each shooting, there seems to be a few more who are willing to talk rationally about how to reduce the bloodshed.

@MistyCee dont get me wrong im not here saying gun control don't need to be talked about it does, but I'm saying in the long run the laws will only make criminals evolve
@WeighedDown I don't disagree with you, really, but I think, to look at drugs for a reference, there's room for some regulation.

We've got some really sick opioids now that don't occur in nature and are pretty addictive. I think those ought to be restricted.

Marijuana, on the other hand, I personally think is less dangerous than alcohol and should not be schedule 1.

But, I think, driving under the influence of marjijuana should be forbidden, just like I think guns should not be freely carried in places where the State can show a legitimate interest in banning them.

I'd let the states figure out whether that includes bars as well as schools, but if the second amendment gets interpreted as prohibiting states from doing that, I think we'd see a push to actually amend the thing, and real discomfort with a Supreme Court that would let that perversion happen under the aegis of "original construction."

@MistyCee nice point on the opioids my town is ravaged by them, so much so there is like 25 drug stores in my town with a population of about 30K, they just keep building them
@WeighedDown Con law and the duplicity of the use of legal theories like "original construction" are not something I feel like going into, but the opioid thing really is a good example of how our rigid Constitution needs to be interpreted to have enough flexibility to cope with problems that weren't on the minds of the founding fathers.

@silmarilion456 I disagree alot of it due to pharmaceutical companies pushing the shit and giving kick backs, the only humans that I consider trash are pedophiles, alot of drug addicts are just damaged people,
