What do you think about this argument?

It shouldn’t bother you that some people are obscenely wealthy (billionaires) because they earned it, that’s their money, and they should spend or save it however they want to. But government waste? That should really piss you off because that’s your money!

Disclaimer: I disagree with the sentiment, but at the moment I can’t seem to think of a valid rebuttal.

Here is your rebuttal. Billionaires should pay more tax for two reasons. First, because generally they benefitted from the environment the government created to a greater extent than most. And secondly because they have so much more to protect and risk losing if it all goes away.😷

@Theyitis Right and left dont enter into it. Its about short term gasin V long term panning.. And its why America will lose and China will win the economic war. Not the political one. If the right starve and deprive the poor, it will cost them more in the long run to deal with the chronic problems in policing, crime prevention and security than it will to give them a hand up. But having spent a couple of generations creating the problem, its beyond the governments ability to fix it now..😷

@Theyitis I can imagine the sort of abuse you'll get from (for example) MAGA and from the bible chewing rightists. There's an element added to the argument; good examples being (during COVID) Dido Harding and the contract for over £37billion that turned out to be a useless Track and trace system, not to mention contracts for unfit for use personal protection equipment that also ran into tens of billions. All handed out by Boris Johnson's "government" to his cronies, which has since been written off.

Earth to Communist: Billionaires DO pay more taxes. They pay the MOST taxes of all. The top 50 percent of EARNERS in America pay over NINETY PERCENT OF ALL INCOME TAXES.

You have all that to come..And you have the advantage of a dumbed down population of proles for a couple of generations now. They are a lost cause.
