In your country, do politicians

...in your parliament, national assembly, congress, or whatever, heckle and insult each other when they are supposed to be discussing matters of national importance?

🇨🇦 Parliament opened yesterday and I am sick of our juvenile politicians already 😑

It's never a decent debate of varying ideas just soapbox shouting slogans etc. Recently all parties allowed a free vote on assisted dying and for once it was a respectful actual debate
@KatyO83 How did that vote turn out?

@ThePatientAnarchist it's likely to go ahead but still going through lords etc. But government is not pushing it only a single mp as a private member bill so takes for evet
@KatyO83 interesting! A private member's bill rarely gets anywhere here so I am impressed that this one is moving along.

@ThePatientAnarchist there is an agreement to not block it
@KatyO83 Cool.
We have had medical assistance in dying for several years now in Canada. I am uneasy about it. It has rapidly gone from a rare option for those in terrible suffering, to something that just about anyone can choose, and many people are choosing it. I foresee it becoming the regular, expected way to die, and I find that very unsettling.

@ThePatientAnarchist I know Canada is one of examples they talk about. It's initially going to be very restrictive here
