I don't know about James Vance, Peter Hegseth and the rest but I am not sure the President is as ignorant about climate-change as he seems, although I doubt he understands the science to any significant level. I think he has his reasons.
Whe he was President first time round, dismissing climate-change was among Trump's campaign points; and so was his wanting the USA to take over Greenland. (I think he used "buy" in those days.)
This time he seems a lot quieter about the climate; but more strident about taking Greenland.
Spot the connection?

@ArishMell All Demented Donnie does is throw spaghetti against the wall to come up with shocking things to say and campaign for. The majority fall on deaf ears even among his brainwashed cult.
Here is an example: during COVID tRUMP tried to take credit for the rapid development of safe & highly effective vaccines from Moderna & Pfizer. Interestingly, he never really mentioned the more problem-prone Johnson & Johnson vaccine which used old techniques/technology.
When his base began rebelling against vaccines and masks, he dropped his attempt to gain support by being favorable to the vaccines. And switched to backing assorted cock-a-manny schemes and scams.
He threw his CDC and NIH staff under the bus, although he and his family were early vaccinated he never again expressed support for vaccination nor claimed credit for his overly hyped “Warp Speed.”

@ArishMell Sticking with my COVID example, in his interviews with Bob Woodward, it was revealed that tRUMP knew he was 1) incompetent to lead against a pandemic, 2) more concerned with the image he was projecting to his base than having the most effective national response, and 3) completely understood that COVID was a deadly disease and he wasn’t prepared to face it, so he chose China as his primary scapegoat.

@KunsanVeteran I see. I do recall it being said of Trump that you can tell him things, but you may need tell him three times before it sinks in.
He seems to me very ignorant of anything technical, and not interested anyway, and hopeless as an international diplomat, but manipulative and devious.
I formed that impression when he managed to wangle a State Visit to the UK only just after his first election. He soon started upsetting people with his fishing attempts - suggesting buying the National Health Service from the UK, and Greenland fron Denmark
Previously to that, most Britons only really knew about him as a property-speculator who somehow gained planning permission to build a hotel and golf-course in Scotland, despite destroying a landscape area designated a "Site of Special Scientific Interest" (legal protection).
We do though have to face the fact that he was elected by many Americans, many of whom still seem very loyal to him.
Whether that is partly because you only really have two Parties to choose between, I cannot say. Some may be more loyal to the Party than the man, because the Party will last but Mr. Trump can be President for only four years.

It’s funny he says that, whilst Trump is on the White House lawn trying to flog the country Elon’s electric cars.
This is the most confused administration we’ve ever had.
