Part of Trump's psychopathology is that he likes violence, particularly when it is against someone that he dislikes. Malignant narcissism often has a sadistic component, and Trump's most certainly does. That's why he took so long to call off the anti-American insurrectionists on January 6. He was really enjoying watching them commit violence in the Capitol.
