Do you trust the government?

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I do. I went to public schools. Ive gotten government/ state health benefits. i was on welfare for a couple months. ive gotten pell grants. teh government cares about you. they work for our safety and security. i may not agree with every action they take but i think they would know better than me and probably have their good reasons for it. sure i might think if i was in charge we'd do this or that but i dont want the responsibility. call me lazy lol, but what power to have to alter their actions anyway? i mean sure if it meant enough to me i might get involved. but thats a beauty of out government. our voices can be heard when we want it to be.

No absolutely not! Government can care less about you unless it is to control you.

@Ozuye502 Should they defund the police?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@JimboSaturn The only people who want the police, FBI or any other legal enforcement agency defunded are people who regularly practice fraudulent or unlawful behavior aka cry baby Trump. People who do not wish to be held accountable for their actions.

@justanothername @justanothername My point was that a user said the government wants to control you but aren't the police the same with that logic?

@JimboSaturn So you're fighting for the right to drink contaminated water? Breathe poisonous air? Eat potentially deadly food? Drive solely on dirt roads? OK. Your call.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Ynotisay No Im saying the opposite. I believe a stong government prevents these things

@JimboSaturn ANNNNND shit. That wasn't intended for you. Sorry man. That was for Senor Grievance. My bad. 👍
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
@JimboSaturn there is a difference between control and maintaining order. Law enforcement was originally designed to just maintain order.

@Ozuye502 Likewise with governments. There there to protect the people.

@JimboSaturn between Ruby Ridge and Waco how was the execution of innocent individuals protecting them?
Oh thats not enough bodies for you?
The vast number of genocides are carried out by who?
Government is constantly trying to strip you of your rights and will not hesitate to do so if given the opportunity.

@justanothername cutting governmental power is actually a good thing just looking at the ATF as the prime example.
