The new social security raise starting in January is a joke!

Biden announced he was giving people in social security a 3.2% raise to combat inflation. My wife signed up for Social security this past September. She was told that her Medicare insurance payments would be deducted from her check before she got it. That's fine. Two weeks ago she got a letter from Medicare stating they were raising the cost of her drug coverage plan. So after deducting the new increase of this new 3.2% pay raise she will only see an additional $0.78 per month in her check to cover all the inflation Biden has caused. Thanks Joe! Don't count on our support in November.

Listen to the guy complain about something most of us will probably never get because the people he wants in office are trying to defund it.

@JovialMoose if that is what you want in retirement you're setting yourself up for a miserable late life. Nothing about social security or Medicaid sounds appealing at all I wish I could opt out of paying social security and just get a lump sum of every penny I've paid into that government Ponzi scheme

@SW-User lol. I’ll dm my female financial advisor’s phone number so you can give her some more awesome mansplaining.

@JovialMoose if you're financial advisor advice is to live off of social security, you could probably finance a better retirement by taking what you pay her, and putting it in a savings account

@SW-User it’s not, dude. Don’t be an idiot.

@JovialMoose I'm just going by what you say reread the thread if you're more confused than your typical daze

@JovialMoose Someone has a argument that beats yours, that's not mansplaining that's someone having a better argument than yours.
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@Queendragonfly you’re kidding, right? I stopped because the person’s ONLY argument was that they believe I was dependent on it. How is that an argument?

@Queendragonfly Here. I will provide references… my top comment explains how I don’t just rely on social security.

@JovialMoose Social security and medical aid help is for people who have no other choice. It's not something to aim for.

She's mentioning base income. Where we don't need to involve the government we all get the same base of money and can live on that.

But imo no matter if it's Trump or Biden US will not prioritize health care for everyone.
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@Queendragonfly I am not disagreeing with that. I 100% agree with you.

But that is not her point.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@JovialMoose I can't speak for her, but that's it's how I interpreted it and then I agree with her too.
