It varies widely from politician to politician. Even within the same party.

@YourMomsSecretCrush I find it frightening, although not surprising that any politician would claim the Hamas are not terrorists.

@Sharon Israel is not targeting civilians or hospitals. They tell the civilians to leave the area before they attack. Hamas keeps them from leaving.
Yes, much of the worst atrocities committed by Hamas are sanitized from the news, I'm sure.
So you take a weak view on raping, genital mutilation, cutting off breasts and torturing girls and women. Got it.
What Hamas did was terrorism. As ugly as it is, what Israel is doing is war. How do you think they should have responded to the attacks?
Keep in mind, Israel has said the could be a ceasefire upon release of all hostages. Hamas refused and the fighting continued.

@tigard I totally disagree with you. The worst attrocities of Israel are omitted from the news, while the actions of Hamas are over emphasized. The Israelis also practice (male) genital multilation. Doesn't that count in your book? You're also (deliberately?) misrepresenting my position. I don't see Israel as any better that Hamas, worse in fact. Hamas has released some of its prisoners in exchange for Israel releasing some of its hostages. I suspect you'd reverse the terms "prisoners" and "hostages" though. "One man's terrorist is another man's Freedom Fighter."
