Folks that scream "socialism" whenever there's any "redistribution of wealth" are not seeing the big picture, and IMO, absolute libertarians are not much different than anarchists.
"Governments" have subsidizing some citizens probably back to the hunter/gatherer days when you think about it, long before socialism or industry was a thing. Sure, I'd call Trump's approach "crony capitalism," but in the end, I'd also say one of the functions of government is to make sure that the community as a whole survives and that includes managing contributions and distributions.

I think individual liberty is worth preserving, but at some point, it needs to yield to be a part of society.
The hard part, imo, is figuring out where to draw lines between individual liberty and communal benefit. I tend to think folks on either side are really "full of shit" tbh, while I think the folks who see the difficulty in balancing individual liberty against communal benefits are worth talking to.
