I used to think rogue governments might turn to cryptocurrency if they are facing sanctions

But seeing sanctions on Russia, which has considerable crypto adoption, it doesn't really make sense as a replacement for day-to-day currency, does it? The whole point of the blockchain is to be traceable and that's the last thing a sanctioned country would want lol. It might make sense to buy it and hold it till after the sanctions though
Its not needed rn so its not used right it turned into silly stuff like NFTs and dogecoin likeee currency its bitcoin and you gota buy it from an exchange ALL the exchanges banned ru so even rogue governments cant just buy it without KYC verification and whitelisted wallets

@TryingtoLava is the need to buy Bitcoin from an exchange built into it's code or do most people just do that for convenience?
@plungesponge an exchange is the only way to buy it in 2022
