@BohemianBabe You've successfully debunked every point made on the video I shared.
@BRUUH Unironically true.
BRUUH · VIP
@BohemianBabe Yes, your gif unironically took every point made, explained the logical holes therein, and convinced me.
@BRUUH Dude, it's Jordan Peterson. He gets his knowledge of Marxism from propaganda that the original Nazis made up to gain power.

You can seriously learn way more about Karl Marx from this.

@BohemianBabe I promise you, jordan Peterson has read more marxist literature than you have. He has almost certainly read capital, the communist manifesto, and much of the works of frankfurt intellectuals. Besides, the video isn't even about Jordan Peterson, and is way more about the guy he's interviewing

@BohemianBabe False. He doesn't think marxism is the same thing as postmodernism, and I defy you to find a direct quote from him where he outright states it is. Besides, the video isn't about jordan peterson; he is just the interviewer. The video is about a guy who recently published a book about marx. You're being a goof

OMG! You seriously never heard him say "Postmodern Marxists" like a thousand times? I don't follow Peterson and even I've heard him say that constantly.

That book has a forward by Michael Knowles, a fascist grifter from the Daily Wire. Need I say more?

@BohemianBabe Saying "postmodern marxists" implies someon is postmodern AND a marxist, which is different than saying those two ideologies are synonymous. If I said "you're a tall blonde guy" it doesn't imply that being tall and being blonde mean the same thing.

I mean, this is a literal logical fallacy. If Hitler likes ice cream, it doesn't mean ice cream is bad.

The two ideologies are opposites. It's like saying, I'm an Anarchist and an Authoritarian.

Yes, but if you want your book to be taken seriously, you don't include a forward by a person whose job is to lie. This book isn't about academic research, it's about selling a right-wing propaganda version of Marx.

@BohemianBabe The opposite of postmodernism would be scientific rationalism, and the belief in objective truth, not an economic doctrine? The opposite of Marxism would be free market capitalism.

Judge a book by it's cover, why don't you? I barely know who michael knowles is. Some daily wire fag. Who cares? I don't have anymore interest in this conversation. If you don't wanna watch it, i'm not interested in convincing you.
@BRUUH

Part of Marxism is the idea that all major events are caused by material conditions. Postmodernism is the idea that there is no consistent truth because everything is subjective based on culture. So a Postmodernist would reject the idea that material conditions apply across the board. This is why you can't be both a Marxist and a Postmodernist.

If you're actually interested in learning, try reading the writings of Marx and Engels instead of righty propaganda.
