russia is a good example of Communism

Years of communism will:

- Divide and reduce the size of your country
- Instill fear amongst younger generation
- more citizens will escape abroad
- harvest anger and corruption
- harvest narcissism
- encourage never-ending, senseless wars

What else? 😏

Russia never had Communism. Russia had State Capitalism.
@BohemianBabe

November 7, 1917: With Vladimir Lenin at the helm, the Bolsheviks, ascribing to Marxism, seize power during Russia's October Revolution and become the first communist government.
@Vivaci They called themselves Marxist Communists, but they weren't. The system they implemented was State Capitalism.
They also called the Soviet Union a collection of Republics, but it wasn't.
@BohemianBabe Agreed….it tried to be one, and couldn’t entirely be one.

Capitalism and communism go hand in hand, only coz the govt can control everything indirectly. I mean on one hand they want industries to be owned by community but eventually they ended up owned and controlled by only a few rich affluent families who only became richer and more corrupt. But they couldn’t be totally capitalistic as their govt is still totalitarian.

So you’re right, most of it was on paper, but the reality was farther away.
@Vivaci Also, Communism is a society with no government. Just the phrase "communist government" is an oxymoron. It would be like saying "fascist anarchy."
The Bolsheviks were really just Fascists who used left-wing imagery because, at the time, there were lots of Socialists in Russia. So I wouldn't say Capitalism and Communism go hand in hand. It's just that Capitalists are willing to lie to remain in power.
@BohemianBabe I beg to differ. China calls itself a communist country till today…they have a totalitarian govt. so you can’t say that there’s no govt. but yes, whatever the façade, it only exists on paper. To this date, their GDP & other data is not disclosed openly to the rest of the world…everything is fabricated so the lies are the foundation of such govts.
@Vivaci Well China isn't communist either. Their government is fascist with communist imagery.
@BohemianBabe Yes, you’re absolutely right…but don’t forget that

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), officially the Communist Party of China (CPC), is the founding and sole ruling party of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

They shape-shift to suit their needs…but as long as this party has ultimate power and authority over state and govt, they’re totalitarian. (Fascism? Not that visible at all times). Again, all we know is what we are told by their govt. so there’s that.
