I Am A Marxist Communist
I am NOT a Marxist communist or any kind of communist. But I used this story title to reach out to anyone who is, especially older people of my own generation. My mother and father were Marxist-Leninists and involved in the old CP in the US from the mid 1930s, through the 40s,50s,60s,70s and 80s (until the Party died in 1989 two years before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991).
I also have good reason to believe my mother was a member of a very powerful secret society located within the Communist Party. The commonly used Russian word for the type of person my mother was is "zakonspirirovnik," according to a footnote in a book, The Encyclopedia of American Communism, a conservative tome published by scholars at Yale.
I am posting this because I am trying to find people whose parents are/we're in the Communist Party, especially the old Soviet dominated Communist Party in the US (1921 to 1989).
I suffered greatly as the daughter of a fanatically Stalinist mother. I was born at the end of WWII and am now in my 70s. I believe my mother was involved in the internal security part of the CP.
I have felt alone, and at times confused and bewildered, by my experiences having parents involved in the CP during the Cold War era and living through the red scare at that time.
I have written a fairly long story (it's my Featured story here located under my Profile) about living with my mother as a child and later dealing with harassment and in some cases serious trouble from my mother and what I sometimes call her henchstaff in the CP. It was terrifying and has left a deep impression on me.
It would help me to know I was not alone in this. I would like to better understand what happened to me and why. I am still looking for answers in order to cope with or, ideally, overcome the effects of things like the use by my mother of drugged hypnosis and frequent sleep interrogations.
If there is anyone out there who has come from a similar background, or who knows someone coming from such a background, or who knows anything definite or substantial about it, please respond here or message me.
