Preparing for the summer heat with something really ... cold
Hello all, i'm just writing this to share exciting news about a subject I look forward to learning about beginning officially early this morning of May 24, 2025.
THE COLD WAR
wow, like I never yet really got into that, there was a slight interest with say that Oliver Stone movie JFK, and how some great Hollywood folk were McCarthyized, and a burgeoning interest in Stalin, things are coming together now to provide for me a "points in several places positioned" approach.
My method of arriving my latest string of interest points has been using the filters on Audible for Plus titles + History and long to short duration, thus giving me a run down of the longest free titles in that category, scrolling down I see hover the arrow over the image and get a brief description, and well I guess i'm interested in a whole bunch of things, so there is an allure always of the past, and how we're re-living some of the issues that historically took place, so it could eventually lead to comprehending the current picture, but I don't much care for the present, I do this cuz I love seeing how things happened that has a lot of analysis on it, with someone like George F. Kennan and his biographer John Lewis Gaddis, with YouTube as a tool, to begin a hopefully long and illuminating time with this subject, like woweeee, what the sections of post-war Germany was, understanding more Fassbinder's cinema better is icing on the cake, and so much more, all around the globe.
A dry and predictable approach to History would be to start at the earliest period and work chronologically, that wouldn't work for me, I require an approach to each part of the journey many points of reference to each of their own dynamic expand and grow, so that eventually they'd all be organically connected to such a pin point exactitude that it would form not just a cartoon image but be photographic of reality.
But now I shall stop and continue my descent into a million rabbitholes. If you're having a quarter of the amount of fun i'm having, you're doing a ok!! See ya round!! 🤐 🥶
