Did anyone give a shit?

If anyone's old enough to remember, when the Wedge document came to light, did anyone actually give a shit or have concern or reported on it? And if not, was that due to lack of major journalistic media reporting on it and/or because it had no immediate bearing on people's everyday lives? Or some other reason?

Huh never heard of it what IS it

@AbbenrainbowwolfAngel: Wikipedia. The wedge strategy is a political and social action plan authored by the Discovery Institute, the hub of the pseudoscientific intelligent design movement.

Basically a plan (partially successful based of the political state of certain states) to put in a political leaders into various branches of government to advocate for, changes laws and reshape culture in favor of fundamentalist Christian values.

It sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory but when it's written down plain as day, it isn't much of a "theory" anymore.

Even the Discovery Institute has an article titled The "Wedge Document": So What?

@CrossCresentCreed: ah oookaay. Whatever that means. Idk.fundamentals huh Christians? Sounds like trouble

@AbbenrainbowwolfAngel:
The simplest way I can I can explain Fundamentalism Christians is:

One day, a bunch of people got scared of all these of new ideas of science, and humanism (like evolution or equality under law) because it meant that their sacred book was wrong in certain places and that they might have to change their thinking on some things. So instead of looking at the new ideas and actually seeing if their book was wrong, they went against everything new without understanding it to keep on believing their book. And that is the story of Christian Fundamentalism. (They usually take everything in the Bible literally)

But not only did they want to keep on believing in their book; they want others to stop learning and exploring those new ideas and only believe in their book so that no one can ever tel them that their book is wrong. So they say the new ideas are wrong and that believing in them will make bad things happen. And they say their book is right and it will cause good things for everyone in the world.

@CrossCresentCreed: well I'm a Christian. Well an unorthodox one I believe in the books that are in the bible and know what is true and what is allegorical.( Like teaching stories.) And What has been added to them by man to control the masses at that time they the books were assembled into one. A lot of them that was not included that should have. But let them have their fantasy world knowing not that it's own borrowed time

@Abbenthewarwolf I believed in both the Bible and evolution (other things as well)for years but the more I read into book and learn about other subjects, the less I could have both of them exist in my mind. A lot of people can do that, but I'm not one of them. I'd have had to ignore a whole lot of what I learned in science/history/mythology/etc., have stretches of imagination, or ignore or cherry pick so much of the Bible, that to say I'm Christian and preach the book as righteous, would hypocritical me. But that's just me.

That Fundamentalist Christianity is relatively new. I think because someone around the western world for only the last centuries, especially America. I think the U.K. too, but I could say. I think it provided some kinda togetherness, unity, and hope after WWI and then the depression etc. So yeah, it's not even what most Christians believe world wide.

Even so, religion has a power over people so it attract "wolves" already by itself. Using for politics make it attract an unbelievable amount of them. So I don't get why a genuine Christian would want that... unless they're wolf puppies such as yourself
Abbenthewarwolf · 18-21, M
@Cease you just insulted me for what? What makes you think that wolves gives a darn about politics about what's in your petty humans minds really? Don't confuse me with with being one of you or anything like you except in appearance unfortunately and that's just temporal. Yes your world is about to end. The sooner the better..no more humans. A much better place.
Cease · 26-30
@Abbenthewarwolf Insult?... dude

1.) I used "Wolves" as the Bible usually metaphorically refers to them. Not "literal wolves" involving themselves in politics and Christianity. That'd be absurd and in turn, humorous. Which is the joke. Which I thought you'd know being a Christian.

2.) I didn't say you were like me. I even explained how I was different from you in what I believe. I only really alluded that your interpretation of the Bible as partially allegorical and not completely literal is more aligned with the rest of Christianity globally.

3.) I only joke that people are actually what's in their profile picture. I don't, nor do most people, expect someone to literally identify with it if it's not a picture of themselves.

4.) How could you become so defensive when you know most people in passing conversation, without knowing any of your prior history, wouldn't take your profile picture as your literal identification. If I had a prior conversation with you and you established that you identified as a wolf, that be a different story. But I safely assume but mistakingly assume you weren't actually a wolf. If you expect people to know that without knowing you and only from a profile picture, you're just setting yourself up to waste your time and energy being offend, defensive, and offensive to people with no logical valid reason.

5.) You could've just said

--'Hey, I identify as a wolf'

And I could've said

--'Oh, okay. I meant "wolf" by biblical definition not actually wolf, didn't mean to offend you'

And it could've ended like that but it didn't go that way.

@Cease why anytime. Humans associated anything with wolves being evil cunning. Diabolical. Mischievous. Killers. When in fact it's the human who put these qualities of themselves upon other intelligent lifeforms seeing DARKNESS within. Yet failing to except their own wickedness. So they go about destroying everything in sight. Including self. Who's the real DEVIL? If not mankind himself. No I don't think I'm a wolf I know that I am. And much more. Our you a cross bearer? Christianity. Mainstream orthodox unorthodox or in between. What does it really matters. Knowledge of the ALL THE ONE. Humanity a disease upon this world. A Parasitic infestation that will be dealt with. Brainwashing. Evolution more like evilution. Have a great day 🐺

That's a gross misrepresentative, half truth. Sure- Germanic mythology, Scandinavian Scandinavian, Grimm Fairy, Aesop Fables, all have a negative portrayals as many other predators and livestock predators historically have. I've seen the useless 'wolf pack attack scenes' and 'Big Bad Wolf' character in modern day.

But there are the Chechen's nations symbol, Capitoline Wolf that raised the founder of Rome, nearly all of Native Northern American culture (a whole continent), European heraldry, Japanese mythology. And I don't think most people who gotten a wolf tattoo got it for the negative connotations.

I can list many positive modern examples from different media but I'll only list 2: "Okami "(my favorite) and "White Fang" which add human traits in order to criticize human nature.

It just symbolism and anthropomorphism; it's something people have done since they could think abstractly and still do. No competent person who knows anything about literature or biology would apply those anthropomorphic traits in real life.

I don't believe in inherent good and evil. Or absolute morality. I can't be a cross bearer if I don't believe in the cross or God.

What does it really matter? I believe there are markers for how reasonable, sympathetic, grounded, introspective, and aware of reality one is. One, I believe, is how adamantly some believes in something (religion for example but definitely not only that) that is unfalsifiable, not evidently true, denies reality, or completely false. And at an individual or minority level, I doesn't really matter unless you're directly involved. People at high levels are more concerning because of power they have. (Like a certain someone thinking electroshock therapy is a reasonable way to try and convert homosexuals and having the ability to make it an option or a mother certain someone trying to force people to renounce their faith and join the army) Also it matter, because if a majority of people around are unreasonable and unsympathetic, just look at David Kato.

Don't know what you mean by brainwashing and "Evilution".
