Trump: ‘I Think We’re Going To Get At Least Very Close’ To Passing Health Bill

Republicans were hell-bent on repealing Obamacare. So why did they wait 7 years to start working on another plan? I find that very disconcerting. Could it be that it never was about the ACA? It was only about defeating Democrats, but mostly Obama? Republicans stopped being legislators to become haters. So the purpose of their epic battle was not to make anything better, more about spending 7 years wasting tax dollars and time. Why couldn't they have done something meaningful? When did they decide as soon as they were elected that they had to make sure they won again not based on action but based on cheating, lying, and vilifying the other side. GOP took oaths not to compromise with Democrats. That is entering negotiations with the knowledge they’re not going to actually negotiate. How does that serve those who voted for them? So here we are 7 years later no closer to repairing or replacing, just a steady stream of anxiety for those in need of insurance. Why couldn't the Republicans work together with the Democrats to fix Obamacare? Did the name Obamacare leave a bad taste in their mouth? Oh! Jiminy crickets! We could have called it the American Legislative Care Act. The ALCA; everyone gets credit; everyone gets health care. For once I wish they'd work for the people and not their party!

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: Funnily enough , while talking about this yesterday I said exactly the same thing. What they most despised about Obamacare was that it had the word Obama in it.
And with just 17% of Americans supporting this bill , how much more proof do they need that this bill is a terrible idea. And furthermore , Republican policies on the whole are wildly unpopular with a sizeable majority of the population , so it begs the question ; How on earth do these people get elected and how do they get to enact legislation that benefits so few people ? Honestly , it baffles me.
