Did the Dems just get swept in yesterday's special elections?

The media was predicting a way different outcome. What happened?

The "media" was predicting a close race. Congrats on protecting a district that hasn't voted for a Democrat in 40 years and that the Republican won by 20 points this past November. AND was Newt Gingrich's district.

@luckranger71: that wasn't the only race Einstein. That was the race where the Dems spent the most money ever on a congressional race and still lost. What is your excuse for the others?
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@Jackjjacksonjr: South Carolina? Not much Dem money poured in and still a 51-47 race. If the Dems take Congress next year, those districts will not be the ones that flip it. The GOP also had to pour $ into GA 6th, a district that should be reliably red.

If they have to make the same investments in red districts in '18 things will get very interesting.

@luckranger71: the media said these special elections were HUGE predictors of 2018 results. Your "IF's" appear to be false dreamsyou are being lied to by your leaders.

First you posted that the "media" was predicting "a way different outcome" with no source whatsoever. Now we're supposed to listen to the media, however you term it, about the implications?

The GOP holding on to a solid GOP seat (as was the case in all the special elections) in a red state probably has little implication for what happens next year. But congrats on your circle jerk.

As with the presidential race, Congress will be decided by a combination of districts in true swing states: Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, Virginia etc. Word is up here that Paul Ryan is going to have to work extra hard to retain his seat next year.

@luckranger71: you're desperately grabbing at straws none of which help your "case"

@Jackjjacksonjr: Enjoy the red state victories! Apparently the Democrats should fold up because '18 is gonna be a rout huh? 😉

@luckranger71: But the left wing talking dunces were so sure the dimwits were gonna take it. It was a referendum on trump, remember? More like a repudiation of dimwit hateful rhetoric. Now don't go assassinating anyone, k?
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@katielass: oh there must have been some "left winger" that appeared on a Fox News "debate" that guaranteed a victory.

Again 20>5. No, I am peaceful. Unlike Dylan Roof and that "Christian" guy in Portland.

@luckranger71: NO, not quite. the left said they were gonna take it because "trump is so unpopular". It was a referendum on him, remember? Of course you do. Your party, particularly calif, poured millions and outspent the repub by 10 to 1 and just wasted your money. Well, I predict the dimwit rhetoric next year will reach an all time low, with their hateful, divisive hate speech. I just hope another one of your nut jobs doesn't get it into his head to start shooting people again.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@katielass: Yah, I sure hope that the President, Steve King and Louie Gohmert can stop spouting off and no more white supremacist nutjobs attack people.

@luckranger71: just saying the libs, media and Dems have been consistently and deliberately and misleading wrong since the president announcing his candidacy in 2015.
