Why liberals defend Hugo Chavez?

I'm appalled by the amount of hero worshiping bestowed upon the tyrannical swine Chavez. I'm glad he died and hope he is languishing in the deepest pit of hell. He nationalized Venezuela's oil reserves, under his regime millions died of starvation and Caracas the capital city has one of the highest rate of homicide in the world. Situation is so dire that they even ration toothbrush and toilet paper. But look at how the Leftist are heaping praises on him. Sickening!!!!
Sorry but this feels like it was paid for by the oligarchs on the right who sold out the country before and have plans to do it again. Perhaps you prefer Venezuela as a US colony? You also conveniently ignore that abject poverty went down drastically under his presidency and that is based on the UN numbers so don't even try claiming it is government propaganda. Also most of the economic chaos was caused by two things outside the control of ANY government in Caracas. 1) the Saudis crashing the oil market and 2) outside investors crashing the currency. Where I live we have the highest homicide rate in my country too but only an idiot blames that on the leader. Should they take an example from the right and have US trained death squads roaming the streets instead?
Socialism is not a failed system anymore then democracy is. I suppose you think capitalism is about peace and love and prosperity? Keep drinking the propaganda cool aid Abrienda.

Funny you should mention Einstein since it is well documented the man was a socialist.

Socialism...is the failed system for which thousands have killed millions who didn't want it so that more millions can have it who also don't want it.

It is the classic illustration of Einstein's descrption of madness.

Tell how you really feel.
I'm a liberal, but I've never lived anyplace governed by Hugo Chavez. Just as I resent when people who live outside of my country try to make excuses for individuals like Donald Trump, I will happily leave the judgment of the late Chavez to his own countrymen.
