So the Republicans of SW hate James Comey now.

I wonder why that is. 馃槣

They're hypocrites, as usual. I gained some respect for Comey because he's been the only Republican willing to tell the truth. I'm not even mad at him about putting former AG Lynch on blast---and she, at least acknowledged that she said what he testified, and why. The only consistent liar and denier has been Trump. And that Trump and his supporters would think that his lies are less important that Comey letting people know is outrageous.

@bijouxbroussard: Perhaps it's Comey lying because he lost his job. We already know Comey is unethical for interfering in the election by reopening the email scandal and he committed a felony leaking those memos to the press. Now that's a hypocrite.
@lastbabyboomer: I really don't think Comey's lying, because he has nothing whatsoever to gain now. Like you said, he already lost the job, and this is still his party. He's not going to go over to the Democrats after being a lifelong Republican, and he couldn't if he wanted to. Trump trashed him personally, when he could've just kept his mouth shut and let his representative's story about the reason for the firing stand. And Trump is still lying. I can't believe people are so foolish that they take anything Trump has to say seriously. And please don't pretend the GOP wasn't thrilled when Comey reopened that scandal, because they were gloating about it at the time. It helped them win, after all.
TheProphetM
@bijouxbroussard: I think the whole thing is a huge waste of time. Nothing said proved Trump did anything wrong. Nothing will come of this just like Clinton skated through his blowjob scandal. I don't know why we even waste our time with this crap.
@lastbabyboomer: Boomer, there's a world of difference between a president screwing a consenting adult vs a president "screwing" his country. If nothing comes of this it'll be because of a massive coverup.
TheProphetM
@bijouxbroussard: There is no cover up because he did nothing illegal. Comey said nothing that indicates a crime.
@lastbabyboomer: Collusion with the Russians where he kept the U.S. press out ? Asking the head of the FBI to not pursue any investigation against people like Flynn, demanding personal loyalty from an organization that by definition has to remain neutral ?
TheProphetM
@bijouxbroussard: As President he has the authority to end any investigation, so no crime. No law says he has to let the press in. Loyalty should be given to the office of President no matter what Party the President is. Obama had the same right to expect loyaty from the people who worked for him.
@lastbabyboomer: And Obama didn't receive that loyalty, remember ? They signed the Cotton Letter and brought in a foreign leader to address Congress behind his back. And they pursued every way possible to obstruct Obama. So yes, I want to know---why do they give Trump a pass (besides the obvious reason) ? Incidentally, Watergate proved that the president does NOT have the power to halt an investigation where he might be found culpable. Nixon found that out the hard way.
TheProphetM
@bijouxbroussard: Nixon was covering up felonies which was wrong. No comparison to Trump. He does have the authority to stop investigations. Should he? Probably not. It's true Obama didn't get the loyalty he deserved. I deplore the state of our political infighting.
