No prizes for guessing my choice. 馃槣

Are the Socialist Workers even running a candidate in your electorate? :p

@firefall: They sent a flier through my door and it went straight in the recycling. I remember one sat lonely in the rain trying sell papers outside a packed Momentum meeting. Shows their relevance to the UK left really.

@Burnley123: LOL I know. They never really had much relevance to anything, but at least they used to have enough numbers to posture a bit. Nowadays, they just look like elderly loons from what I can see.

@firefall: TBF to the SWP, they did used to have a big student following from the 70s through to the 90s. They Anti Nazi League which they founded did great work against the BNP and the demonstrations against the Iraq War were at least 50% organised by their activists.

5-10 years ago the were presented with a rape accusation by a young female member against one of their leaders. Instead of going to the 'bourgeois' police they dealt with it internally and used the emancipated revolutionary justice of a panel of his friends. He go off and they shut down any debate into the procedure. Half the party left, including most of the student wing. Now they are even more of a fringe than ever and even groups on the left sometimes refuse to work with them.

@Burnley123: oh! that's hilarious in a horrible way - the Young Socialists in NZ went through the same thing back in the late 70s when I was at Uni, almost exactly, and it of course destroyed them.

@firefall: When I was Uni at the turn of the century it was a few years before this happened and they had some strength. I even joined briefly because it was that or the Blairite Labour club. The trotskyist groups were the only politica. left around at the time really but they did a lot of shouting about workers revolution and argued against each other about whether the USSR was a deformed workers state or state capitalist. I thought it was silly even at 19.

@Burnley123: yeah, not a lot of good choices at that point
