Is the UK Labour Party, the most popular social democratic party in western Europe.

Polls have us between 33-40%. Elsewhere more 'centrist' leftwing parties have huge problems with long term decline. Corbyn has revitalised Labour. Perhaps not enough to win an election but certainly well enough to give it a reason d'etra.

Its been a dramatic couple of years.

Tough one, whether he wins or loses !

If he wins, he's going to have a lot to deal with.
Domestically; in Europe and internationally !

The current terrorist threat; slowing economy; extraction from the E:U; trying to talk some sort of sense to the U.S. President (Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall in those meetings !)

And that's before he gets anywhere near his own manifesto !
If he DOES win, he really will need a solid team of 'do-ers' rather than 'talkers' around him.
I've no doubt Mrs. Merkle is just desperate to bend his ear !

And if he should lose, probably because folk are more 'convinced' by a sharp suit and plummy accent as opposed to anything like policy.
Then fingers really have to be pointed at those within his own executive who have given him such a hard time since he became leader.

@Picklebobble2: Oh I agree it will be hard if Corbyn wins. Someone has even suggested that its in Labour's interests to lose this election. Though I ultimately strongly disagree, Brexit will be a shambles and whoever has to negotiate it will be blamed by the public. It would be worse under May for obvious reasons but the UK right wing press would hammer him for things beyond his control. As would the UK establishment generally. However, a Labour Brexit would be much less damaging to the UK that May's kamikazee attitude.

As a Labour member I also have to think about internal party stuff and the Labour left is in a much stronger position than a month ago because of a strong campaign on an excellent manifesto. I know the civil war may seem like naval gazing but this manifesto would not have happened under another leader and messy as it is, this stuff matters. Unless Corbyn is PM, the party right will make another move against him. He will try and change the rules to allow a left successor to get on the ballot at the next party conference. Nothing is ever simple.

@Burnley123: I think your analysis is spot on.
Irony of ironies ?
ELECTION 2017........the one neither party wanted to actually win !
LOL. I would want Corbyn to win for that reason alone. Its hard to imagine a bigger contrast.

@Burnley123: Two total opposites. Although, i can see a return to the 'beer and sandwiches' negotiating style !
Trump would probably LIKE that !
No pretense, no bullshit, chat and get it done !
