Also to add that May thinks she will get a good trade deal by being close to Trump. Given our weak geo political position and given this is trump, he will screw us.

@pezzza: I think the Conservative leadership have bad judgement but are not quite that naive. They desperately want to be able to say they have a trade deal - any deal - so they can sell it as compensating factor for leaving the single market. On propaganda grounds they need it, which Trump will know.

A deal is likely to be TTIP in nature but stacked further against Britain. Tariffs are already really low so all we have to negotiate with is further outsourcing of the NHS and our education system to US companies. Joy.
