This is seriously the weirdest election (not in the US) in living memory. May is running a properly awful campaign.

So if you end up with a minority in the UK you can't run with a minority government, right? What happens if May wins a minority and nobody will form a coalition with her?

@TyphoidJerry: We've had minority governments in the past, they can try to run on their own and get support, or not, on a vote by vote basis. She can always rely on support from the DUP MPs from Northern Ireland, with potentially disastrous results.

Okay, I was under the impression that if a party wins then government can't form unlike in Canada where the government forms, but is vulnerable to being forced into election if a budget vote fails.
