I think it's more nuanced than that. Change occurs, regardless of a society's acceptance or reluctance. It's [i]how[/i] we decide to accept the change that draws the distinction.

@WhisperingBanshee: yeh I was referring to wether we choose to change or resist it, which is what we seem so good at (resistance).
