Are "refugees" the new lumpenproletariat?

From Encyclopaedia Britannica: Lumpenproletariat , (German: “rabble proletariat”), according to Karl Marx in The Communist Manifesto, the lowest stratum of the industrial working class, including also such undesirables as tramps and criminals. The members of the Lumpenproletariat—this “social scum,” said Marx—are not only disinclined to participate in revolutionary activities with their “rightful brethren,” the proletariat, but also tend to act as the “bribed tools of reactionary intrigue.”

The "social scum" words are Marx's, not mine. Basically the lumpenproletariat does not have class conscience, cares just for themself, and does not hesitate to serve bourgeois interests.

You certainly don't have to be a refugee to fall into that category

@Loulou: Agree, but I think "refugees" (notice the quotation marks; I think many of the so-called refugees are actually economical immigrants who give a bad name to the true refugees) belong in that category.
@Cierzo: Yes it's a horrible, messy affair...I say don't bomb people to begin with!!
