@tynamite: I am a teacher in London. The city is NOT Muslim majority and is not to my knowledge even BAEM majority.

Also the vast majority of Muslims are normal people like you or I. They are the parents I talk to, my local shop keeper, my colleagues and my doctor. For you they are a mythical species you read about on the internet.

The point about London is that it is a cosmopolitan international city. It has every nationality.

By my maths, this makes about 60% white, not that it's of any relevance.

If it matters to you, the Muslim population of the UK is less than 3 million. That is from the 2011 census that you also quoted.

Yes the Muslim population is rising faster but the UK population as a whole is over 65 million. Its less than 5% and mostly concentrated in major cities which do not actually have a problem with immigration. Hence why a majority white city like London voted for a Muslim mayor. That would not have happened if there was a threat of Sharia law.

There are a lot of popular myths on right wing American websites and they have their own agenda. This does not however, reflect the reality of life in the UK.

I have seen this behaviour in other leftists parties too, treading too carefully, not being clear to condemn terrorism.
