You want to know the real reason Trump won?

Ok I will tell you. Black voters declined by 5.6% while white voters increased by 4.3%. It was worse in battleground states.

Hillary and the DNC cheated their non-establishment and populist candidate out of the primary nom. They then turned their backs on their traditional voter base.

@MethDozer: Sorry to tell you Bernie wpuld never have beat Trump either. The reason Hillary did not is becauss those states that mattered have a large number of mysogynistic men who cpuld never vote for such a nasty woman and their wives...who have no idea about being independant and thinking for themselves.

Democrats and Republicans both have major issues.

Can we stop talking about the past and focus on the present.

Funny how we keep talking about what wont change amd refuse to discuss properly what can change and how...

@MethDozer: The DNC didn't do anything the RNC didn't do. They both had their favored candidate. And the "Bernie would have won" meme is based on the delusion that Bernie lost the Democratic primary simply because of electability considerations. If Bernie lost the primary because he was too liberal for Democrats, OF COURSE, he'd be too liberal for the general electorate. His weakness among Democrats would be AMPLIFIED among the general electorate.

@MethDozer: No. And I really wish that line of argument would drift away. It's emotional and, nothing personal, pretty damn foolish.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: There's another component at play that a lot of the "Blame the DNC" people forget. Sanders (who I voted for) wasn't a Democrat. He joined for the election and left when it was over. And seriously, was ANYONE swayed to vote one way or the other by the DNC? It's just a ridiculous charge and makes me question the intellectual validity of my fellow Progressives.
@Ynotisay: I agree. I liked Bernie (not so much anymore). Of course, I've always been a Hillary fan. I realize she isn't perfect. We've never had a perfect candidate and never will. But bottom line, she beat Trump by several million votes. Plenty of voters wanted her. Indeed, a plurality did. And several million more Democratic primary voters wanted her than wanted Sanders. People need to accept that.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: I think she would have been an excellent President. I voted for Sanders in the primary, knowing Clinton had my state, in the hopes that a strong Sanders showing would help move the party to the left.

Outside of the myriad of things that took place to influence this election, including the abject stupidity and gullibility of millions, I think how Clinton campaigned was a huge factor. She shouldn't have gone in to "fire up the crowd" mode. It's not who she is. Gravitas, experience and reason were her calling cards. I'd cringe when I'd see her sometimes. It was insincere and a turn off. She didn't need to do it. Hope some lessons were learned.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: I am glad not to be subject to California's voting whims.

@Molly23: Comey, with his lame "let's see what's on the perv's laptop" 11th hour sabotage of Hillary's campaign, handed Trump the elections. He's now trying to clear up his name, by coming up with lame excuses.

In France, by law, the fake news could not use the hacked information. The government warned that they would be legal consequences. Bottom line though, other than some lame jokes about getting spanked by the teacher, they did not have anything on Macron, and that says a lot, as this is France, where Presidents typically leave a number where they could be reached, in case of a nuke attack, before taking off with a mistress fro the weekend.
