I'm out canvassing for the UK Labour Party Tomorrow.

This means knocking on doors and asking people to vote Labour. This also means the general public of east London have to listen to my political opinions instead of you horrible lot. 馃槣

Probably less chance of getting shot here, though....

@hunkalove: According to LesDeplorable, London is overun by evil Muslims trying to impose Sharia law on everyone. He would know obviously, because he lives in Australia and reads right-wing American websites. I just live in the city. 馃槣
@Burnley123: What is it with the Australians who've bought into that crap ? I lost a friend whom I respected because she became convinced and insisted upon telling me that Donald Trump was going to be our salvation. 馃槼

@bijouxbroussard: TheOneYouWhereWarnedAbout is an Aussie too. The alt-right seem to be big down under.
@Burnley123: Yep, I'm aware. It's probably for the same reasons the alt-right took hold here---they're tired of feeling guilty about what was done to the native people there, too. I'm glad most of those I encountered online first, and my sister's boyfriend, are more left of center.

@bijouxbroussard: I make you right about the history with Aboriginals. They are also well known for having a particularly harsh attitude to immigration, worse than even Brits and Americans. Its a shame because my Sister has visited and said it was a beautiful country.
@Burnley123: In both cases of the U.S. and Australia, it's total hypocrisy, since both countries are the result of mass immigration---to the detriment of the native peoples.

And while countries like France, Italy, Spain and England certainly have sovereign rights to decide who comes into their countries---there's that pesky history of colonialism.

@bijouxbroussard:
pesky history of colonialism
Indeed. Amongst one or two (ahem) other things we are also responsible for your Second Amendment. A constitutional law aimed at having a militia with muskets made sense when those dastardly Brits might invade again. Its now used to justify dudes hunting dear with automatic weapons who say 'people kill people' when others talk about murder weapons. 馃槣

@Burnley123: That's very weird, it's the well known British docu "My Hometown Fanatics"by Stacey Dooley 馃憖

@kingkyrie: It is what it is. Youtube tells me Warner Brothers have blocked it.
