i have been a feminist since the movement started. i don,t hate men, nor do i advocate the feminnazi movement but i am damn proud of fighting for women's rights to have a career, upward mobility, changes in rape laws, equal pay for equal work. feminism gave women a choice which they never had before and i think that is awesome. they sure changed my life for the better.

@ladycae Yes, I like this comment. This is the way I see feminism. It seems to me that there is a minority of women with some extreme views which call themselves feminists or are labelled such and which are being used to generalise against all women who think like you do and just want the equality to which you and many others have fought for over many years. In fact from what I have seen online I would go so far as to say that it's being done on purpose to demonise the legitimate movement by a few extremists on the far right because they are afraid of women who don't know their place. Most feminists that I have met think like you and want these same goals, and they aren't men haters or want shared bathrooms like a few would like us all to think.

@SW-User you could not be more right. those of us who have been in the trenches know the truth. we all love, need and want men. we just want to be treated as equals.

@ladycae And even if some women don't all love men, because of sexual orientation or, because of horrible traumatic experiences, it's ok and that feeling doesn't make them any less equal in my eyes, it just means that some women need a bit more empathy and understanding or even some space without judgement to work things out, and for people to look beyond the anger and consider what might be really going on. But I would not be happy to live in a world where women can't be treated equally and that world still has a lot of work to do, especially in some places but it's people like you in the trenches as you said, that have done so much to improve things. We can't let a few with extreme views taint the legitimate majority.
