Who is the best political journalist of this generation?

For me Glenn Greenwald wins hands down. Fearless, independent and with superb analysis.

He is most famous for being the Guardian journalist behind the Edward Snowden revelations. He has also been heavily involved as a critical friend if Wikileaks and recently broke the news of the 'soft coup' of the Brazilian Government to international audiences.

Here he is in the Intercept, with his superb analysis of the Trump airstrike and the forces behind it. Its a long article, but well worth it.

There are a few great political journalists out there. Unfortunately, and like Greenwald, they have limited audiences, primarily (in my opinion), because they don't cater to the general population's ADD.

I liked the piece you referenced. The flip side to it, is the windfall for Putin out of the US Syria strike, namely because Putin gets kudos, and fuels Russian national pride, by opposing American aggression. Polls now show, that about 80% of Russians, support the Syria campaign, making it easier for him to continue ruling.

I also like Charlie Rose.

PS: Greenwald, mentions how elated Fareed Zakaria is. I am really disappointed in Zakaria. All Trump had to do, was bomb the guy, who's been bombing Sunnis, for the Sunni Zakaria, to praise Trump. That's not real objective journalism, but that's another thing I agree with Greenwald on (and something I've been stating here on SW). For the cable networks, it's ALL about the eyeballs, and not some political agenda.
