Will Trump's continuing disregard for the truth destroy completely whatever remains of his credibility ?

The conservative-leaning Wall Street Journal has an editorial out today with serious criticisms of President Trump for his “seemingly endless stream of exaggerations, evidence-free accusations, implausible denials and other falsehoods.”

The crux of the editorial concerns the president’s wiretapping claim that has been refuted by a number of intelligence officials and the heads of the House and Senate Intel Committees. Yet, in the words of the Journal, Trump “clings to his assertion like a drunk to an empty gin bottle.”

The editorial board concluded: "Two months into his Presidency, Gallup has Mr. Trump’s approval rating at 39%. No doubt Mr. Trump considers that fake news, but if he doesn’t show more respect for the truth most Americans may conclude he’s a fake President."

I have yet to see anything he says or does turn his supporters against him.

Agreed but with an approval rating of 37% there's obviously a great many who are already disillusioned.

@pezzza: If that's the case, they're going quiet rather than saying they feel they were mistaken. LOL

@JustNik: Probably time to start thinking how we bring them into the tent of sanity again? Quieting them isn't necessarily converting them.
