Why do liberals/leftists have a visceral hatred of Christianity even though it has almost no influence today ?

The core liberal belief is that the human person is the ultimate source of freedom and goodness, and so must be emancipated not only from restrictive political and social systems but from the Church, religion and even God Himself. Thus liberalism is above all a spiritual rebellion – not just a political or social ideology. On the surface it seems odd that liberals in the postmodern era tend to identify with the cause of Islam, since that faith is antithetical to most liberal values. But Islam has long been the sworn enemy of Christianity, and it is Christianity with which liberalism has been at war for three centuries.

Non accountability is practically the foundation of leftist thinking. Christianity touts accountability.
Do liberals ever take responsibility for anything?

For killing Osama Bin Laden, that ended the war on Islamic terror. Obama was responsible for that didn't you hear?
@therighttothink50: Obama has thrown his arm out spiking the ball more than a few times, hasn't he?

Yes and the penguins step up and applaud the mythical figure. It is like applauding a baseball hitter who occasionally fouls off a pitch and his hitting .033. God what the left considers great is mind boggling.
@therighttothink50: The 'left' itself is mind boggling. I have been trying to figure out how people can think the way they do. I used to be what you would call a "hippie", but I never accepted revisionist nonsense or hated my own country.

@Jackjjacksonjr: All the allure of a rabbit hole.

There is a box of Godiva chocolates at the bottom 😀

@Jackjjacksonjr: Tempting, but I was hoping for sanity and leadership. Chocolate's a damned fine substitute, though.
