Do you believe Donald Trump has 'tremendous respect' for women ?

Donald Trump has said he has “tremendous respect for women” in a series of tweets to mark International Women’s Day.

“I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy.”

I do think he does have a tremendous respect for women. I do not think that Trump is a racist or a sexist. I think that he is crass and boisterous and often says things he doesn't mean. I think he insults individuals like a adolescent boy on the playground. But he is insulting individuals he doesn't like and really doesn't mean that he hates a whole gender or a whole race. He makes general insults and means them specifically.

Now, I don't support Trump, I don't like the guy. But it bothers me when people extrapolate something he said in specific to his stance in general.

I honestly have seen no evidence that he is racist or sexist outside of people indiscriminately screaming that he is.

I see no reason why he shouldn't respect women, their accomplishments, and significance.

@AngryPanda: Yes, people are going to take something said about a behaviour and attitude and extrapolate it to their whole gender or race or sexual orientation or whatever group they can to try and take away any credibility from the perpetrator of the statement.

It is a terrible tactic used a lot these days. I even see it used against me if I make a statement against something specific or an individual, they assume that I made it because of their race or orientation rather than the infinitely more likely solution for me that I made it based on their actions or character.

@LvChris: Ex-wives are certainly going to give a different opinion. Now I am certainly not saying that he is a great man, or even a good man, like I said I don't like the guy. But I don't think he hates women.
