I don't have any disrespect for them. They probably don't support the military regime and if you joined the Navy then you did it for the nation not congratulations. His spouse accepted his choice and they both knew that there was a chance he would die.

What are you saying? People who go into harms way to protect your way of life aren't worthy of thanks?

@MasterLee: I don't speak for him, but they have my thanks. That said, they don't need to stand next to Trump to get it.

@UndeadPrivateer: or obama, or clinton, or.....
he is the Commander in Chief.
he is the Commander in Chief.

They go in knowing that, I never asked them to do it. The entire world can stop doing things for each other, I'll probably die, but I never expect people to do anything for me.

@MasterLee: The soldier is merely doing their job. It's the commander's job to own up to their responsibility. The soldier knows they could die going into a hot zone, the commander has to also realize that the people they're putting into the path of danger are people not playthings. If you think we should be throwing away human lives at a whim then I have to highly question both your ethics and whether you have any idea what you're talking about.

@UndeadPrivateer: good to know how you feel about soldiers
